About

The Canvas is a virtual space where art can be viewed, enjoyed and engaged with. In creating this magazine, we want to illustrate the breadth of art coming out of the University of Reading and its surrounding community, art which will be included in following issues. Everything from visual art to spoken word, poetry, prose, flash fiction, photography, paintings, and performance art is welcome in The Canvas. This format differs from the archived print copies of The University of Reading Creative Arts Anthology which were limited to printable artforms such as written, painted, or photographic works. In our online issues we can showcase diverse artists and artforms, offering a fluid and absorbing experience for our readers.

Visit our Archives tab to read our previous, printed issues.

The Canvas is maintained by a voluntary team of editors and website designers which changes yearly to coincide with new personnel joining and graduating from the university. We gratefully acknowledge support from the Senate Committee for the Arts and the Department of English Literature in the School of Literature and Languages at the University of Reading.
