Submit

The Canvas, published twice a year, is a forum for work by students, staff and alumni of Reading University, and residents in the local area. It occasionally features work by visiting writers and artists. Submit before the 31st October to be considered for the Spring issue, and before the 30th June to be considered for the Autumn issue.

To contribute please email your submission to the following address, making sure to include ‘the canvas submission’ in the subject line:thecanvas@reading.ac.uk

Each submission must be the work of the person submitting and must include the title of artwork, name of artist (unless stated to be anonymous), a short biography, and any descriptive text to support the piece.

Written submissions, such as poetry and prose, should be attached as a Word document to the same address.

For visual art, such as photography, painting, and performance, files should be at least 300dpi and 1920x1980px*.

For art that includes sound, such as spoken word, please contact the editors.

We will only accept contributions from University of Reading students, staff, alumni, and those living in the Reading area. We cannot guarantee a reply to every submission.
